<text>Clement of Alexandria's oldest manuscript today is the Arethas Codex which includes all three volumes of Paedagogus. The treatise, "Paedagogus," translates to "instructor" or "tutor"; this book is dedicated to illustrate Jesus Christ as the supreme teacher of mankind. Clement of Alexandria wrote the treatise in order to clearly explain that Christians should act in way that is a response to God's love. Out of the three books, the second book illustrates how Christians should apply certain pragmatic rules and dietary restrictions to live a more Christian life.</text>
